World over technology is fast changing the way we conduct businesses and day to day dealings. Disruptive technologies and disruptive innovations are challenging the well established business models of the past. One such area is business process outsourcing (BPO) that is fast changing its facet to accommodate technology.
Legal process outsourcing (LPO) is a subset of BPO process and it pertains to legal services. Most of the LPO service providers are still using the traditional paper based and physical presence based models. These models essentially involve human intervention and minimum use of information and communication technologies (ICT). There is no doubt that ICT for development (ICT4D) has tremendous scope and applications. We at Perry4Law’s Techno Legal Base (PTLB) have launched one such ambitious initiative that is an example of ICT4D.
Before we proceed further, a few words about PTLB and Perry4Law would not be out of place. Both PTLB and Perry4Law are registered trademarks of Perry4Law Organisation (P4LO) that came into existence in the year 2002. Perry4Law Organisation (P4LO) is the premier techno legal organisation of the world that is providing techno legal services in the fields like cyber law, cyber security, cyber forensics, cyber crimes investigation, e-discovery, e-commerce, e-governance, e-courts, online dispute resolution (ODR), conflict of laws in cyberspace, etc. These services are high end in nature hence they are managed by Perry4Law Organisation (P4LO) and Perry4Law Law Firm.
However, in many cases, many stakeholders are not able to avail our services due to budget constraints. For such stakeholders, we have specifically launched the PTLB LPO platform. Now availing of LPO services of PTLB from any part of the world is as simple as opening of a LPO support request. This is a “Disruptive LPO Model” that is using ICT4D aiming at reduced costs and avoidance of wastage of time and efforts. After all, how difficult it is to open a LPO support ticket even with a low Internet speed? The PTLB LPO model is also unique in the sense that it is eliminating the middleman and is connecting lawyers, chartered accountants, company secretaries, corporate professionals, tax professionals, etc to the prospective clients.
Technology has always been considered the non happening thing for lawyers and legal services. And we are not talking about case management software, client management tools or automated software for managing administrative works of law firms and lawyers. We are here talking about actual and disruptive use of ICT for legal works no matter what their nature, scope and complication is. PTLB is all set to change this perception about lawyers and law firms and our disruptive LPO model would further evolve with passage of time, experience sharing of legal fraternity, national and international stakeholders, etc.
Nevertheless, we understand that every new model requires proper documentation and guidance notes to make it more accessible and usable. That is why we have launched a dedicated discussion forum in this regard known as PTLB LPO Discussion Forum. The forum has been specifically created keeping in mind the interest of the following stakeholders:
(b) Professionals like lawyers, CA, Cs, etc seeking execution of assignments of PTLB and such clients as per PTLB LPO’s rules. They can extend their services either as empanelled or freelance professionals. So there is great flexibility for these professionals. However, empanelled professional would enjoy certain priorities and benefits that freelance professional would not get. So it is better to empanel at PTLB LPO with a onetime non refundable fee of Rs. 5000 (Five Thousand) only.
(c) Available assignment execution opportunities for empanelled lawyers, CA/CS and freelance professionals. Interested professionals having more than 5 years of experience must keep a regular tab on these boards.
(d) News, articles and opinions about PTLB LPO platform.
We would add more segments and boards at PTLB LPO Discussion Forum so that other issues may also be covered as we grow along with other stakeholders and community.
PTLB has also launched a dedicated LPO Blog so that various stakeholders can have access to materials, articles and news about PTLB LPO and its initiatives. Regular updates about PTLB LPO would also be shared by the PTLB LPO Twitter account.
We hope these information sharing initiatives of PTLB LPO would help various stakeholders to learn more about the disruptive LPO model that PTLB has introduced. Once you are accustomed to the procedures and mechanisms of PTLB LPO platform, you would be more than happy to join it and its success. We look forward to have you on this collective journey of success and hope that with your active use, suggestions and support we would be able to change the LPO scenario forever.
